I suggest Autoflower seeds for beginners who are learning to grow for the first time as they are usually unfamiliar with flowering schedule.
1-10 is a good beginning for new growers as germination of any seeds is never 100% guarantee and new growers have to learn to dial in there skill for learning how to germinate correctly.
Materials Needed
- Cannabis seeds
- Two clean plates
- Paper towels
- Clean, room-temperature water
- A well-lit area (but not in direct sunlight)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare Your Workspace
- Ensure all materials are clean to avoid contamination.
- Work in a room with stable temperature (70–85°F or 21–29°C).
2. Moisten the Paper Towels
- Take 1–2 paper towels and moisten them with clean, room-temperature water. They should be damp but not dripping.
- Lay the damp paper towel flat on one of the plates.
3. Place the Seeds
- Spread your cannabis seeds evenly across the damp paper towel.
- Ensure there’s at least 1–2 inches of space between each seed.
4. Cover the Seeds
- Place another damp paper towel on top of the seeds to cover them.
- Gently press the paper towels so the seeds make good contact with the moisture.
- Place the second plate upside down on top to create a dark, humid environment.
5. Maintain Proper Conditions
- Store the plates in a warm, dark area, like a cupboard or a drawer.
- Check daily to ensure the paper towels remain moist (but not overly wet). Add water if necessary.
6. Watch for Germination
- After 24–72 hours, the seeds should start to crack open, and a small white root (taproot) will emerge.
- Germination can take up to 7 days for some seeds, so be patient.
7. Transfer the Sprouted Seeds
- Once the taproot is about 1/4–1/2 inch long, it’s time to plant the seeds in your growing medium (e.g., soil, coco coir, or rockwool).
- Handle the sprouted seeds carefully by the sides to avoid damaging the taproot.
8. Plant the Seeds
- Create a small hole about 1/2 inch deep in your growing medium.
- Place the seed with the taproot pointing downward.
- Gently cover it with soil without packing it tightly.
9. Provide the Right Environment
- Keep the growing medium moist (but not soaked) and ensure good airflow.
- Place the container under a gentle grow light or in indirect sunlight.
10. Monitor Growth
- Within a few days, the seedling should emerge from the soil.
- Adjust light, water, and nutrients as the plant grows.
Only germinate seeds if you are in a legal state.
